　  =>1.）加拿大驻华使馆参赞高柏灵先生访问广西大学（Mr. Patrice Cousineau’s Visit to Guangxi University）

 

2009年2月19日，加拿 大驻华使馆参赞高柏灵先生访问广西大学，先后与广西大学校领导和中加国际学院加拿大研究中心成员座谈，并为中加国际学院学生进行了加拿大留学讲座，讲座结束后回答了同学们的提问。

       Mr. Patrice Cousineau, Counselor and Head of Pu-blic Affairs from Canadian Embassy in Beijing paid a half-day visit to Guangxi University on February 19th, 2009. After having a talk with the Vice President Ms. Huang Weiyi of GXU, Mr. Patrice Cousineau had a discussion with members of the Centre for Canadian Studies, Sino-Canadian International College of GXU on exchange programs and grants offered by Canada. Then he delivered a speech to students from Sino-Canadian International College on Studying in Canada and answered questions from the audience.

=>1. 加拿大布鲁克大学教授查尔斯·伯顿在河北师大的学术活动（Dr. Charles Burton from Brock University, Canada Visiting Hebei Normal University）

 

河北师范大学客座教授、加拿大布鲁克大学政治学系教授查尔斯·伯顿博士，2008年11－12月访问中央党校期间趁便来河北师大，于2008年12月3日为法律系师生做了题为“赖昌星案、中加关系及相关法律问题”的学术报告。

在加拿大移民法院审理赖昌星案件时，伯顿曾涉足其间。他从学术研究的角度，深入、生动地阐述了中加两国之间文化传统、法律制度上存在的差异。演讲结束后，伯顿与听众进行了现场交流，回答了同学们提出的问题。                                                            Prof. Charles Burton giving a lecture

伯顿博士自1999年起为河北师范大学客座教授。学术报告开始前，戴建兵副校长向伯顿博士颁发了聘书，继续聘任为客座教授。

Dr. Charles Burton, professor in the Department of Political Science, Brock University, Canada, was in Hebei Normal University December 2-4, 2008 as the visiting professor with the University. During his stay in the university, he delivered a special speech entitled “Lai Changxing Case: Sino-Canada Rela-tions and the Related Law” based on his involvement in the Lai Changxing case. After his lecture, Prof. Charles Burton answered the questions from the

Before the lecture, Dai Jianbing, the vice president of the university presented the appointing letter to Charles for renewing his visiting professorship with Hebei Normal University.

　=>1.） 加拿大驻华使馆参赞高柏灵Patrice Cousineau先生到北京外国语大学演讲(Counsellor Patrice Cousineau Giving a Lecture at BFSU）

 

2008年12月10日，加拿大驻华大使馆参赞高柏灵（Patrice Cousineau）先生应邀到北京外国语大学做了题为“加拿大面面观”的讲座。

此次讲座由北外加拿大研究中心和北外学生加拿大研究俱乐部共同主办。当天下午16:10，讲座在北外逸夫楼第二阶梯教室进行，能容纳300多人的大教室座无虚席，同学们带着极大的兴趣聆听了参赞先生介绍加拿大概况和2010年温哥华冬奥会的准备情况。

讲座在高柏灵参赞幽默的话语中开始。2010年温哥华冬奥会的宣传短片从一开始就吸引了同学们的目光。接下来的时间中，

      Mr. Patrice Cousineau was giving the lecture                   高柏灵参赞分别从加拿大地理情况、政治、经济、科技、民俗等方面向到场的同学们呈现了一个多彩的加拿大。讲座结束后，同学们抓住这次和参赞近距离交流的机会，提出了有关加拿大的各方面问题，现场提问非常踊跃。参赞还和同学们交流了自己在语言学习方面的经验和心得。讲座在同学们热烈的掌声中结束。

本次讲座为那些对加拿大研究有兴趣的同学提供了一次深入了解的机会，受到学生们的普遍欢迎。

讲座后，北外英语学院院长孙有中、副院长张剑、加拿大研究中心主任龚雁等宴请了参赞先生，席间进一步探讨了北外加拿大研究中心的发展和与加拿大相关大学的合作事宜。

Mr. Patrice Cousineau, Counsellor of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, was invited to give a lecture titled “Canada: An Overview” in Beijing Foreign Studies University on December 10, 2009.

This lecture was sponsored by the Canadian Studies Centre and the Canadian Studies Club in BFSU. It started at 4:10 pm on December 10 at the Second Lecture Room of Sir Shaw Run Run Building in BFSU. The 300-seat lecture room was packed. Mr. Cousineau’s lecture on Canada and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Oly-mpics aroused great interest in audience.   

The lecture started with Mr. Cousineau’s humorous remarks and a video clipping of the preparation work done for the 2010 Vancouver Winter   Olympics. 

  And it gave the              Group photo of Mr. Cousineau and the host at the dinner          students an overall picture of Canada from the perspe ctives of geography, politics, economy, science and technology and traditions and customs. During the Q&A session after the lecture, students asked many questions about Canada and Mr. Cousineau also shared with the audience his experience in learning foreign languages.

This lecture was very well received by the students in BFSU and it provided an opportunity for interested students to know more about Canada and Canadian Studies.

After the lecture, Mr. Cousineau was invited to a dinner by the host. Together with Professor Sun Youzhong, Dean of the School of English and International Studies, Professor Zhang Jian, Vice Dean and Professor Gong Yan, Director of Canadian Studies Centre, they discussed matters concerning the development of the Canadian Studies Centre in BFSU and cooperation with Canadian universities.

=>1. 加拿大驻广州总领事Francois Rivest先生访问广东外语外贸大学 （Mr. Francois Rivest, Canadian Consul-General in Guangzhou Visiting Guangdong University of Foreign Studies）

   

2009年1月9日，加拿大驻广州总领事馆总领事Francois Rives先生访问广东外语外贸大学北校区，领事馆官员韩萍萍一同随往。广东外语外贸大学校长隋广军和副校长仲伟合会见Francois Rives总领事一行，一同会见的还有该校加拿大研究中心主任朱建成教授。

隋校长向Francois Rives领事介绍了广东外语外贸大学的历史、学术成就和发展规划。隋校长还表达了该校希望进一步接受加拿大政府及驻广州总领事的支持的愿望。

Rivest先生说，他对广东外语外贸大学的访问对更好地了解广州、珠江三角洲地区和加强中加大学合作来说，是一个良好的开端，Rivest先生在朱建成教授的陪同下访问了加拿大研究中心，听取了该中心目

Mr. Francois Rivest, Canadian Consul-General in Guangzhou, together with Miss HAN Pingping, an official from the consul, visited Guangdong Unive3rsity of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) north campus on January 9, 2009 where he was greeted by President Sui Guangjun, Vice-President Zhong Weihe, and Mr. Zhu Jiancheng, head of the GDUFS Canadian Studies Center. Mr. Sui provided Mr. Rivest with     Rivest with a brief history of GDUFS, outling its academic achievements and promotional schemes. He also expressed his hope for further support from the Canadian Consulate-General and Canadian government.

       Mr. Rivest said this visit to GDUFS is a good start in knowing more about Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta region, and to strengthen academic cooperation between Canadian and Chinese universities. Mr. Rivest visited the Canadian Studies Center accompa-    nied by Mr. Zhu who briefed the guests on current achievements and future development plan. Mr. Rivest promised his support for the development of the GDUFS Canadian Studies Center.

　=>2.  《中加两国在21世纪的战略合作出版——中国加拿大研究会第12届年会论文集》最近由山东大学出版社出版（Strategic Collaboration between China and Canada in the 21st Century: Selected Papers from the 12th ACSC Conference Published by Shandong University Press）

   

《中加两国在21世纪的战略合作出版——中国加拿大研究会第12届年会论文集》近期已由山东大学出版社出版。该书收录了41篇中国加研会第12届年会上提交的论文，分为四个部分，分别是经贸、环保与社会（11篇），多元文化与教育（12篇），政治、外交与历史（9篇），和文学、诗歌与戏剧（10篇）。这些论文题目新颖，内容丰富，反应了近年来国内加拿大研究领域的主要方向，体现了比较高的研究水平。作者从不同的领域和角度对加拿大历史与现状、社会与公共政策、文化/文学与教育、内政与外交等做了深入的探讨和广泛的研究，力图为中国的社会发展提供可资借鉴的经验和教训。

该书的出版得到加拿大驻华大使馆的慷慨资助，山东大学外语学院也提供了部分资助。中国加研会卸任会长、山东大学郭继德教授为论文的收录和编辑提供了指导并该书做序，李巍教授负责联系作者、内容编排和清样校对等具体的工作。该书35万字，定价28元，全国各大书店均有销售，欲购者也可与山东大学出版社联系。

Strategic Collaboration between China and Canada in the 21st Century: Selected Papers from the 12th ACSC Conference was recently published by Shandong University Press. This collection includes 41 papers presented to the 12th Biennial Conference of ACSC and is divided into four parts: the first one contains 11 papers dealing with Canadian economy, trade, environmental protection and society；the second one contains 12 papers on multiculturalism and education; the third one contains 9 papers about politics, foreign policies and history; and the fourth one contains 10 papers on literature, poetry and drama. With new topics and rich contents, these papers represent major research aspects and higher level of Canadian studies in China. The authors probed into the issues in Canadian internal society and foreign relations as well as the governmental policies towards them, hoping to use Canadian experience for reference in China’s social development.

Publication of the book was made possible by generous support of Canadian Embassy in Beijing and some fund from Foreign Languages School, Shandong University. Professor Guo Jide, former president of ACSC, directed paper selecting and book compiling and also wrote an instructive preface for the book. Professor Li Wei was responsible for concrete work such as communicating with the aothour, compiling the book and collating the press proof. Occupying 300 pages the book is priced at ￥28 and is available at big bookstores. Those who want to purchase it can also contact with Shandong University Press.

2008年11月27日，南京大学加拿大中心邀请加拿大艾尔伯塔大学英语系教授、作家Ted Bishop给本科生做了有关如何阅读文学作品的讲座。Bishop教授认为，文学作品的物质状态传达了重要的信息并在我们理解作品方面发挥了重要的作用。

  On November 27, Professor Ted Bishop from the Department of English and Film Studies, University of Alberta, was invited to give the undergraduate students from the English Department, Nanjing University a lecture on how to read literary texts. According to Professor Bishop, the materiality of literary texts conveys important messages and plays an important role in our understanding of the texts.

　 =>1.   云南民族大学加拿大研究中心在云南大理召开了08’大理·中加民族文化教育比较学术研讨会(A The 08’ Academic Seminar of Sino-Canadian Indigenous Culture and Education Comparison Hold from 11th to 14th, Dec. in Dali Autonomous Prefecture of Bai People, Yunnan Province)

                                                                                         

为加强云南省边疆民族地区经济社会发展，弘扬中华民族优秀文化，加强对外文化交流，2008年12月13日，在云南大理召开了由云南民族大学加拿大研究中心主办的08’ 大理·中加民族文化教育比较学术研讨会。此次会议旨在促进民族文化教育研究，加强中加两国在民族文化教育方面的互相沟通与借鉴，推进中国及云南省的民族文化教育事业的发展。

此次会议涉及中加民族教育政策比较研究、中加民族教育文化比较研究、中加民族比较研究、中加民族双语教育比较研究、中加民族地区管理体制比较研究五个专题。云南民族大学加拿大研究中心主任

Organized by the Canadian Studies Center of Yunnan Nationalities University, the 08’ Academic Seminar of Sino-Canadian Indigenous Culture and Education Comparison was hold during the time of Dec.11th to Dec.14th in Dali Autonomous Prefecture of Bai People, Yunnan Province, P. R. China. Nearly 40 experts, scholars from the universities of other provinces and Canada, the local minds and ethnic minority college students were invited to attend the seminar. The  aim of the seminar is to promote the development of the border ethnic minority society in Yunnan, to uphold the excellent facets of China’s ethnic minority cultures as well as to expand the mutual cooperation and exchange between China and Canada.

lity & Respect, Harmony & Development. The scholars from Liao-Ning, Shanghai, Tianjin, Canada, and Yunnan give their wonderful speeches on the aspects of ethnic minority students’ second language acquisition, language transfer, bilingual education, culture conservation, multiculturalism comparison, folk literature and education policy comparison.

        Greatly funded by the authority of Yunnan Nationality University, the seminar gained a successful result. The Canadian Embassy in Beijing, the Canadian Counselor in Chong-Qing, the Foreign Office of the Yunnan provincial government showed their earnest concerns to the seminar before it held.

=>1. “共享情感，共享市场：加拿大文学在中国”研讨会暨《走下坡路的男人》汉译本首发式在北京举行（A Seminar Named “Share the Sentiments, Share the Markets: Canadian Literature in China” Held in Beijing）

     

    为进一步促进中加两国的文化交流，由加拿大文化遗产部、加拿大外交和国际贸易部主办、中国加拿大研究会、宁波大学加拿大研究中心承办、加拿大驻华大使馆协办的“‘共享情感，共享市场：加拿大文学在中国’研讨会暨《走下坡路的男人》汉译本首发式”于2008年9月6日在北京举行。40多位来自中加两国高校和出版机构的专家学者及政府官员参与了本次研讨会。加拿大驻华大使馆高柏灵参赞出席招待会，并对与会的两国代表表示欢迎。

《走下坡的男人》为加拿大著名小说家盖伊·范德海格所著，曾获得加拿大总督文学奖及其他多种奖项，在世界文坛具有相当影响。首发式上，浙江文艺出版社许晓芳副社长简要介绍了该社在加拿大文学引进方面的工作，表示《走下坡

                       Group photo of participants                                    路的男人》作为该社“红枫叶”丛书中的第一部，将为以后系列丛书的出版发行带来的良好的声誉。Arjun Vinodrai先生代表加拿大文化遗产部对“红枫叶”丛书的出版表示祝贺，并希望 今后可以看到更多更好的加拿大文学作品能够与中国读者见面。宁波大学刘继华副教授和其他译者介绍了该书的翻译情况。

其后的“共享情感，共享市场：加拿大文学在中国’研讨会”由中国加拿大研究会会长、山东大学郭继教授与加拿大渥太华大学著名文学批评家戴维·斯坦恩斯教授共同主持。南京大学傅俊教授、内蒙古大学魏莉副教授介绍了各自学校加拿大中心的运作情况，南京财经大学冯建文教授介绍了自己多年来潜心翻译加拿大文学作品的心得，北京大学丁林鹏博士宣读自己的博士论文纲要，并与与会代表进行了热烈交流，宁波大学刘继华副教授就当代加拿大文学中的“自我回归”做了分析，并代赵伐教授宣读了题为“加拿大文学在中国：为什么要欣赏与如何欣赏”的主题发言。大会发言结束后，与会代表围坐一起，以圆桌会议的方式继续热烈交流。

此次研讨会的形式多样，内容丰富。研讨会利用午间休息时间邀请了加拿大文坛新秀邓敏灵女士为读者朗诵了新作《确定》。戴维·斯坦恩斯教授为与会代表介绍了《英国人的仆童》等加拿大影片，Arjun Vinodrai先生为与会代表介绍了题为“我不是你心中的印第安人”的电影，激起了代表的极大兴趣。

本次“共享情感，共享市场：加拿大文学在中国”研讨会暨《走下坡路的男人》汉译本首发式在北京的成功举行，为中国从事加拿大研究、出版和宣传的专家学者提供了一个重要的相互交流的平台，为促进中国学者对加拿大文学的深入研究、增进两国的文化交流具有重要的意义。

A seminar named “Share the Sentiments, Share the Markets: Canadian Literature in China” was held on September 6, 2008 at BCCP, Beijing. Over 40 scholars, publishers as well as officials from both China and Canada attended the activity.

 The seminar was headed by a book launch ceremony of Men Descending on the morning of the day. Written by the Canadian writer Guy Vanderhaeghe and translated by Prof. Zhao Fa and his team from Ningbo University, the book had gained much attention in the world ever since. At the book launch ceremony, Mrs. Xu Xiaofang, vice president of Zhejiang Art and Culture Publishing House, or the Chinese publisher of the novel reminded that Men Des-

                            Book presentation                                              cending was the first of the “Maple Series” in her plan, and more great Canadian literary books would be published soon. On behalf of the Canadian Heritage, Mr. Arjun Vinodrai expressed his wish that more and more Chinese readers would read Canadian books and enjoy the cultural diversity. Prof. Liu Jihua and other translators from Ningbo University shared their feelings about the translation of the novel.

      After the book launch, professors from different Canadian Study Centers in China began the discussion part on the topic of Canadian studies in China. Prof. Guo Jide from Shandong University, Prof. David Staines from Ottawa University, Prof. Fu Jun from Nanjing University, Prof. Wei Li from Inner Mongolia University, Prof. Feng Jianwen from Nanjing Finance and Economy University, and Dr. Ding Linpeng from Beijing University delivered their speeches and exchanged opinions with the audience. Ms. Madeleine Thien, a writer from Canada was also invited to the seminar and she read a part from her new book Certainty at the noon break.

      The seminar was organized by the Canadian Study Center in Ningbo University and the Association for Canadian Studies in China, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Canada and the Canadian Heritage. The Canadian Embassy in China also helped organize the activity.

=>2. 里贾纳大学Marion E. Jones教授在社科院民族所讲座(Two Professors from Regina University Visiting CASS)

 

应中国社会科学院民族学与人类学研究所（简称“社科院民族所”）的邀请，加拿大里贾纳大学经济系教授江怡安（Marion E. Jones）博士和里贾纳大学研究生院副院长茹东燕（Dongyan Blachford）博士于2008年11月27 日到访社科院民族所。江怡安博士在北京作了题为《加拿大劳动市场上针对弱势群体的培训方案》的学术讲座。  

    中国社会科学院民族所副所长黄行教授会见了里贾纳大学研究生院副院长茹东燕和里贾纳大学经济系教授江怡安，对她们的来访表示欢迎，希望进一步加强双方业已建立的合作关系。参加座谈和学术交流的有中华教育创新协会会长张庆来先生，中国传媒大学李娜老师，中国社会科学院民族所加拿大研究中心周庆生、张继焦、彭雪芳、杜发春、姜德顺、木仕华、张小敏等10余人。中国加拿大研究会副秘书长杜发春主持了座谈会。

     江怡安博士首先介绍了自己目前正在进行的研究项目，她根据在卡尔加里和里贾纳开展的调查研究，围绕加拿大劳动市场上针对弱势群体的培训作了学术报告。她说，根据1：1的比例，开展焦点小组访谈，对象是那些难以融入加拿大劳动力市场，并且接受过劳动力市场提供的训练方案的人。访谈主要在72个对象中开展，保证了至少每一类都有代表，以抑制劳动力市场一体化，主要包括以下类别：较低的社会经济地位，原住民地位，单亲抚养，刑事司法历史，拥有残疾等。江怡安博士的主要研究发现是：与劳动力市场技能相比，受访者更看重生活技能，这与生命的意义和人际交往技能有关。价值认知是获得了对生活新的视角和实现过去对现在的影响。价值的行为包括：个人特质和动机，并建立积极的社会支持和社会资本。这些见解在理论上提供丰富的因素会大大影响劳动力市场的政策和做法，特别是因为大多数培训计划和政策的计划是为了达到人力资本的积累。江怡安博士认为，在卡尔加里和里贾纳开展的劳动力短缺情况下的案例研究，在了解加拿大及其他地

       江怡安教授1994年获伦敦大学经济学博士学位，她的主要研究兴趣有：里贾纳和卡尔加里劳动力市场上的弱势群体参与、加拿大和中国的旅游业、加拿大萨省和中国农村妇女企业家及其妇女地位、中国西南的国家自然保护区和生态旅游等。

       A roundtable discussion on Canadian Labour Market Training Programs for Vulnerable Groups was held in the Chinese National Academy of Social Sciences(CASS) on 27th of November 2008. Dr. Marion E. Jones, Department of Economics, and Dr. Dongyan R. Blachford, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, University of Regina in Canada, were invited to CASS to exchange academic views on Canada-China research. During this event, Dr. Marion E. Jones had a presentation on Tipping Points: What Participants Found Valuable in Labour Market Training Programs for Vulnerable Groups.

Dr. Marion E. Jones introduced their research pro-grams in Canada. She said that based on 1:1 and focus group interviews with people who have experienced ongoing difficulties integrating into Canadian labour markets, and who had completed a labour market training program. Interviews were conducted with 72 individuals who were represen-tative of at least one categories that inhibited labour market integration: low socioeconomic status, Aboriginal status, single motherhood,  criminal justice history, and possessing a disability. The major finding:

           Representation and discussion                               respondents valued life skills rather than labour-market skills, and these involved life meaning and interpersonal skills. Valued cognitions were gaining a new perspective on life and realizing the past impacts the present. Valued behaviours included personal characteristics and motivations, and building positive social support and social capital. These insights provide theoretically rich considerations could considerably influence labour market policies and practices, particularly since most training programs and policy programs are geared towards human capital accumulation.  The major finding is that the cases studied in Calgary and Regina under significant labour shortages particularly useful in examining conditions under population aging in Canada and beyond.

      Dr. Marion E. Jones got her Ph.D in Economics from the University of London (1994). Her Research Interests: labour market participation for vulnerable peoples in Regina and Calgary, sustainable regional development in rural areas of Saskatchewan and China, women entrepreneurs and the status of women in rural areas - Saskatchewan and Rural china, industrial tourism in Canada and China, national parks policy and nature tourism in Southwest China, theoretical issues regarding sustainability.

      Ten Chinese scholars attended this seminar and exchanged views with Canadian Professors. On 2nd of September 2008, On 2nd of September 2008, Dr. Dongyan R. 《印第安人：加拿大第一民族的历史、现状与自治之路》一书，已于2008年10月出版由民族出版社，全书69万字。[加]迪克•加尔诺（Dick Garneau）著，李鹏飞、杜发春编译。本书分为两篇，第一篇为“加拿大印第安人编年史”，从史前史到2002年，1－24章，[加]迪克•加尔诺（Dick Garneau）著。第二篇为“对加拿大印第安人的历史发展道路的认识”，由五篇专题论文组成，24－29章，李鹏飞等著。本书为“中国－加拿大交流丛书”，得到加拿大驻华大使馆和加拿大外交部资助。

本书的主要议题有：1、灿烂的古代美洲文明与加拿大第一民族的历史梗概；2、加拿大第一民族与早期欧洲定居者的接触、交往和毛皮贸易关系概况；3、1871年到1921年制定的11部包括安达略北部、草原省和北方领土的广大地区的条约，让第一民族让出自己的土地，将他们到保留地去居住，给予一定的渔猎权。1876年出笼的印第安人法使土著民实际上成了受政府及其政策执行当局的监管对象；4、20世纪第一民族社会的实质性进步。随着时代的发展，土著民运动的加强、选举权的获得，1982年宪法和1992年夏洛特顿协议承认土著自治权力和土著自治政府为加拿大联邦三级政府之一。以Penner命名的国会印第安人自治特殊委员会的五年调查所作的报告要求对印第安人社会生活方方面面进行全面的变革以及联邦最高法院的一系列有利于第一民族的重大裁决；5、加拿大第一民族走向自治之路的成功经验：在以承认与和解为主导原则的基础上，就承认土著人的土地权利、承认土著人社会的特殊生存所需的土地为中心的要求、承认土著人特定的地缘环境、承认土著人特殊的服务分配的地区性和地方性组织、承认土著人以氏族或语言为基础的族体为基础的实质性条件进行联邦、省区、地区的三级谈判、协议和签约。政府承诺15年内提供300亿加元预算开支以保证土著人的土地拥有权的实施。接着是一系列协议的达成和签定；6、加拿大立法和执法系统对土著人权力实施的法律保证工作，以及土著自治法院和法律系统的完善；7、加拿大印第安人与北方事务部、土著人国民大会、土著人议会、土著民村落社委员会、梅蒂斯人全国会议和加拿大土著妇女协会等组织在平等社会的精神下积极争取和解决土著人的各种权益和就业上所做的努力； 8、加拿大第一民族的教育文化事业的发展及其与其他非土著加拿大人在这些方面的差距。加拿大第一民族人民在加拿大这个文化马赛克的国家里，对主流文化的认同感及其反同化、为保留自己民族传统文化方面的认识和努力；9、加拿大第一民族人民在21世纪面临的新挑战面前的发展思路，保留地内的传统生存方式与更多进入城市的土著人的生活方式，在参与主流社会的竞争和保留自己民族的传统及价值观方面所面临的挑战；10、从多元文化政策角度对加拿大、美国、澳大利亚、新西兰、南非等国处理土著问题的政策进行分析，也与中国实施的少数民族政策及这些政策所带来的民族发展机遇进行比较；11、此外，本书还对美洲印第安人的民族、氏族、村落社状况和特点，以及主要语言语族分类做了一些简述。

作者简介：

迪克•加尔诺（Dick Garneau），1937年出生于一个著名的梅蒂斯人家庭。早年长期在加拿大艾伯塔省东北ESSO能源开发有限公司供职。1953年与梅蒂斯民族事业研究发起人James Brady 相遇，受到启发，从此历尽半个世纪的辛苦经营，创立了《加拿大印第安人历史》网书，受到举世关注。

李鹏飞，1936年10月生，北京理工大学外语学院教授。从事《英语语言学》、《西方语言学流派及理论》，《英汉－汉英翻译》教学多年。退休后至今，受聘于北京理工大学珠海学院英语专业任教。从事加拿大研究多年，主编有《加拿大与加拿大人》丛书第四至第六集，翻译《加拿大：走向今日之路》等书。曾任北京理工大学加拿大研究中心主任多年。

杜发春，1966年9月生，中国社会科学院民族学与人类学研究所副研究员，中国加拿大研究会副秘书长。从事加拿大原住民研究和加拿大移民研究数年，发表的相关论文有《苏士瓦印第安人的宗教信仰变迁：加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚省亚当湖村落社调查》、《苏士瓦印第安人的火文化及其对中国消防工作的启示》、《加拿大移民研究》等。主编《加拿大的社会包容与经济发展》和《西部开发及其社会经济变迁：中加比较研究》。

2008年12月1日，中国社会科学院国际合作局副局长张友云教授在北京会见并宴请了加拿大约克大学弗罗里克（Bernie Frolic）教授。

    张友云在会见中说，中国社会科学院同加拿大社会科学研究机构和大学的学术交流活动，初始于20世纪80年代。1980年12月，在中加双方的共同努力下，在加拿大驻华使馆的积极协助下，中国社会科学院与加拿大社会科学人文科学研究理事会（Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada，SSHRC）签订了第一个“中-加学术合作谅解备忘录”。根据该备忘录，中-加双方每年可以交换访问学者44人/周，加方的学者来自各所大学，中方学者来自中国社会科学院和中国各高校。这个备忘录于1990年完成使命。通过这个备忘录，中国社会科学院同加拿大几十所大学建立了学术联系和交流关系，也将加拿大的学术机构和著名学者介绍到中国。这个备忘录在中加学术交流的创始阶段起到了铺路搭桥的作用，也为双方的进一步合作与交流奠定了坚实的基础。张友云希望通过弗罗里克教授向约克大学和SSHRC转达中国社会科学院希望今后继续与SSHRC和约克大学进行合作，同时也希望继续得到加拿大政府和加拿大驻华大使馆的支持。

      弗罗里克教授对张友云教授的会见和宴请表示感谢，愿意为加拿大与中国在教育和学术研究方面合作交流贡献自己的力量。双方拟定在中加关系、环境能源、社会经济、历史和民族研究等方面开展合作和交流。

    弗罗里克教授是加中关系首席专家，现为约克大学政治系退休教授、约克亚洲研究中心主任。参加会见和宴请的有中国社会科学院国际合作局美大处副处长张巧枝女士，中国加拿大研究会副秘书长杜发春先生等。

       On December 1 of 2008, Professor ZHANG Youyun(Vice Director-General, Bureau of International Cooperation CASS) hosted Prof. Bernie Frolic(York University)  in Beijing. They exchanged views on Canadian studies in China, and agreed to continue Canada-China academic and educational collaborations on the issues of Sino-Canada relationship, environment/energy, social-economic, history and ethnic studies. Professor Zhang hopes Dr. Frolic’s contribution to rebuild the MOU of CASS-SSHRC and the MOU of CASS-York so that more Professors from both countries could get support from this program.

       Ms. ZHANG Qiaozhi, Vice Director of America and Ocean Division, Bureau of International Cooperation CASS, and Mr. DU Fachun, Vice Secretary-General of ACSC attended this meeting.

    2008年9月27日至10月11日，南京大学加拿大研究中心姚媛老师和何宁老师受邀前往艾尔伯塔大学，参加第六届世界翻译日国际会议并在会上发言。在艾尔伯塔大学访问期间，两位老师还在该校加拿大文学研究中心、比较文学系和东亚系分别做了有关加拿大文学和中国加拿大研究现状的讲座。   

      2008年10月28日，南京大学加拿大研究中心邀请多伦多大学英语系的Marlene Goldman教授给研究生做了有关加拿大文学的讲座，激发了学生对加拿大文学的兴趣。

      Professor Yao Yuan and Professor He Ning from the Canadian Studies Center, Nanjing University, were invited to visit the University of Alberta from September 27 to October 11, 2008. During the visit they gave speeches at the Sixth International Translation Day Conference hosted by the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies. They also gave talks at the Canadian Literature Center, the Milan V. Dimic Institute for Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies and the Department of East Asian Studies on the topics of Canadian literature and Canadian studies in China.
      On October 28, 2008, invited by the Canadian Studies Center, Nanjing University, Professor Marlene Goldman from the University of Toronto gave a lecture entitled "(Dis)possession: the Gothic and Haunting in Canadian Fiction",which aroused the students' interest in Canadian literature.

1.）北京外国语大学聘任学者Bernard Frolic为客座教授（Prof. Bernie Frolic Engaged as Visiting Professor of Beijing Foreign Studies University）

  

        11月17日，约克大学教授Bernie Michael Frolic被北京外国语大学聘为客座教授。英语学院院长孙有中和加拿大研究中心主任龚雁共同为Frolic教授授予北京外国语大学客座教授聘书。

Frolic教授是加拿大约克大学名誉教授，多伦多大学高级研?吭保鸫笱Э妥淌冢渲饕芯苛煊蛭屑庸叵怠?

在此次北外之行中，Frolic教授为加拿大研究中心的研究生举行了一系列有关中加关系的讲座。讲座的第一部分简单介绍了加拿大的经济、社会和政治制度。第二部分阐述了加拿大外交政策的基本原则。第三部分以中加关系为例，详细讲述了二十世纪两国双边关系的发展。第四部分突出了中加建交以来取得的成就，指出了目前中加关系中存在的问题。Frolic教授渊博的学识和儒雅的气质给参加讲座的师生留下了深刻的印象。

On November 17th, Prof. Bernie Frolic from York University was engaged as BFSU visiting professor. Dean of School of English and International Studies, Prof. Sun Youzhong, and Director of Canadian Studies Center, Prof. Gong Yan, together conferred BFSU Visiting Professorship on Prof. Bernie Michael Frolic.

Prof. Frolic is Professor Emeritus, York University, Prof Senior Researcher, University of Toronto, and a visiting professor at  Harvard. His major field of studies is Canada-China relations.

From left to right：Prof Gong, Prof. Frolic and Prof. Sun                 During his visit to BFSU, Prof. Frolic gave a series of lectures on Canadian foreign policy and Canada-China relations to the students at Canadian Studies Center. In the first lecture he introduced key issues and events in the Canadian economy, society and political system. The second lecture examined basic principles of Canadian foreign policies. The third lecture took Canada-PRC relations as a case study, showing how the two countries developed their bilateral relationship in the 20th century. The final lecture looked at the present relations, highlighting achievements and problems. Prof. Frolic’s profound knowledge and nice personality left a deep impression on professors and students present.

1. 加拿大歌曲音乐会在南京财经大学举行（Canadian Songs Concert Held in Nanjing University of Finance and Economics）  
2008年11月7日晚南京财经大学“加拿大文化周之加拿大歌曲音乐会”在南京财经大学大学生活动中心成功举行。此次音乐会受到了加拿大驻上海领事馆的资助，由南京财经大学外语系承办。作为中国加拿大研究会第13届年会暨国际学术研论会的组成部分，此次音乐会受到了参加年会的中外著名专家和学者的关注和好评。南京财经大学副校长许承明教授、中国加拿大研究会会长郭继德教授、加拿大驻华大使馆文化参赞高柏林先生（Mr. Patrice Cousineau）、加拿大驻华使馆文化项目官员王荔女士、加中关系首席专家、约克大学Frolic教授、蒙特利尔大学Peter M. Foggin教授、阿尔伯塔大学Brian L.Evans教授、阿尔伯塔大学Patricia E. Prestwich教授、南京财经大学外事务邱伟芬处长、南京财经大学外语系书记肖辉教授、南京财经大学加拿大研究中心主任冯建文教授等一百多位从事加拿大各领域研究的专家、学者出席了晚会。在演唱会上，外语系的同学以男女生合唱、女生小合唱和独唱形式演绎了九首加拿大歌曲和一首中国歌曲，如加拿大国歌“Oh,Canada”、“Lovely Land”等，南京财经大学外语系主任王克明教授也亲情出演。最后一曲由王克明主任担任指挥、金立林老师领唱的中国歌曲《茉莉花》将晚会的气氛推向了高潮。加拿大研究会第13届年会的主题“中国——加拿大的和谐发展”在此得到了完美体现。通过这个晚会，使学生对加拿大有了更深层次的了解、更进一步增进.。   音乐会结束后，加拿大驻华大使馆文化参赞高柏林接受了南京财经大学校报记者的采访，他对这场音乐会的成功举办表示高度赞赏。他说，熟悉的旋律和动听的歌声，让他感受到了中国的友好和南财学生的热情。   （南京财经大学加拿大研究中心韩静报道）    

On the evening of Nov. 7, 2008, “Canadian Week---Canadian Songs Concert” was held in Students’ Auditorium of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE). This concert was sponsored by Shanghai Canadian Consulate General and hosted by Department     Prof. Wang Keming commanding Chinese famous  song      of Foreign Languages, NUFE   “Jasmine” sung in lead by Ms. Jing Lilin         . As a part of the 13th Biennial Conference of the Association for Canadian Studies in China (ACSC), the concert received close attention and good comment from experts and scholars home and abroad who participated in the biennial conference. Prof. Xu Chengmin, Vice President of NUFE; Prof. Guo Jide, President of ACSC; Mr. Patrice Cousineau, Cultural Counselor of Canadian Embassy in Beijing; Ms.Wang Li, Academic Relations Officer of Canadian Embassy, Prof. Peter Foggin from University of Montreal; Prof. Brian L. Evans from University of Alberta; Prof. Patricia E. Prestwish from University of Alberta; Prof. Qiu Weifen, Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange; Prof. Xiao Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party’ General Branch, Prof. Feng Jianwen, Director of the Canadian Studies Center, NUFE and other over one hundred experts, scholars in Canadian studies fields were present at the concert. Students from Depar-tment of English performed nine Canadian songs and one Chinese song in Male & Female Choir, Female Choir, and Female Solo, such as “Oh, Canada”, “Lovely Land” and so on. Prof. Wang Keming, Director of Department of Foreign Languages also joined in the performance out of friendship. The last Chinese famous song “Jasmine”, commanded by Prof. Wang Keming, sung in lead by Ms. Jing Lilin promoted the concert  to the climax. The theme of the 13thLeaders and guests taking photo with performers           Biennial Conference of ACSC, “Harmonious Development in Canada and China” has been expressed in a perfect way. Through this concert, students have a much deeper understanding of Canada and the concert also promoted the cooperation and communication between Canada and China. After the concert, Mr. Patrice Cousineau, Cultural Counselor of Canadian Embassy in Beijing  agreed to an interview by journalist from Nanjing Caijing Daxue Xuebao. Mr. Cousineau highly praised the performance of this concert. 2. 南京财经大学举办加拿大英语演讲比赛（English Speaking Contest on Canadian Studies Held in Nanjing University of Finance and Economics）
  为进一步加深大学生对中加两国的相互了解，加拿大驻沪领事馆资助，南京财经大学加拿大研究中心、南京财经大学外语系和国际合作与交流处合作，于2008年11月8日晚在南京财经大学福建路校区综合楼报告厅举办了“加拿大周系列活动之加拿大英语演讲比赛（决赛）”。加拿大阿尔伯塔大学Patricia E. Prestwich教授、中国加拿大研究会顾问郭继德教授、会长冯建文教授、副会长王昺教授、杨令侠教授、南京财经大学外语系主任王克明教授及参加第13届加拿大研究会年会的中外专家三十余人出席了比赛现场。 国际合作与交流处处长邱伟芬教授外语系副书记肖辉教授、外语系副主任孙勇彬副教授、我校英语演讲、辩论指导教师韩静老师、加籍外教Tania女士担任本次比赛的评委。  
                             来自我校各个专业的十位同学，在10月29日的初赛中过关斩将，成功晋级决赛，并展开了激烈地角逐。决赛由已备演讲、回答问题和即性演讲三个部分组成。整个比赛过程激烈有序，每位参赛选手都充分地展示了自己的风采，将英语水平和对加拿大的理解结合起来，给广大的领导、专家、嘉宾、学者和师生留下了深刻的印象，比赛现场的气氛紧张而热烈。最后来自外语系的肖文同学获得了一等奖。冯建文教授、郭继德教授为肖文颁发了一等奖；王昺教授和杨令侠教授为二等奖颁奖；外籍专家和邱伟芬处长为三等奖颁奖。       受加拿大研究会会长冯建文教授的委托，韩静老师对比赛作了点评。会后嘉宾们和获奖学者亲切交流并合影留念。（南京财经大学加拿大研究中心韩静报道）

In order to deepen the understanding between China and Canada among college students, sponsored by Shanghai Canadian Consulate General and Canadian Government, the Canadian Studies Center, Department of Foreign Languages and Office of International Cooperation and Exchange in Nanjing  University of Finance and Economics (NUFE) held “English Speaking Contest (Final) on Canadian Studies” on the evening of Nov. 8th on  campus of Second class prize winners with Prof. Wang Bing（righ）Fujian Road,  in NUFE.      and Prof. Yang Lingxia （left）Prof. Patricia E. Prestwich from University of Alberta; Prof. Guo Jide Consultant of Association for Canadian Studies in China (ACSC), Prof. Feng Jianwen, President of ACSC; Vice Presidents of ACSC, Prof. Wang Bing and Prof. Yang Lingxia; Prof. Wang Bing; Dean of Foreign Languages Department of NUFE, Prof. Wang Keming and other Chinese and foreign scholars who took part in the 13th Biennial Conference of ACSC were present at the contest. The contest developed in order and every contestant showed his excellent qualities through the combination of English speaking competence and the understanding of Canada. All of them left a deep impression on leaders, experts, guests, scholars and audiences. At last, Xiao Wen from the Department of Foreign Languages won the first prize. Prof. Feng Jianwen and Prof. Guo   Third class prize winners with Prof. Qiu Weifen（le'f't）Jide awarded the first prize; Prof. Wang Bing and Prof. Yang Lingxia, awarded the second prize; foreign experts and Prof. Qiu Weifen awarded the third prize. Entrusted by Prof. Feng Jianwen, President of ACSC, Ms. Han Jing made a short comment on the whole performance. 3. 蓝仁哲教授来南京财经大学外语讲学（Prof. Lan Renzhe Delivering Speech at Department of Foreign Languages, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics）        
2008年11月4日下午，中国加拿大研究会第一任会长、原《四川外语学院学报》主编、博士生导师蓝仁哲教授来我校为外语系广大师生作了题为《中国外语教学的发展方向》的学术讲座，讲座由加拿大研究中心主任冯建文教授主持。在讲座的第一部分，蓝教授讲述了中国外语教学中的“中文”学习的重要性和世界性并且强调英语专业的学生在英语学习的同时，需要设法不断地学习中文，提高中文的基本功。英语专业的学生能够真正地掌握英语和汉语这两门语言是中国外语教学的发展方向。在讲座的第二部分，蓝教授讲述了中国加拿大研究的概况并对今后的研究作了展望。蓝教授温文而雅地讲座风格，儒雅的学术气质给师生了留下了深刻印象。讲座师生们受益匪浅，值得反思。     （南京财经大学加拿大研究中心报道） On the afternoon of Nov. 4th, 2008, the first president of Association for Canadian Studies in China, former editor-in-chief of Journal of Sichuan International Studies University, Ph.D. Supervisor, Prof. Lan Renzhe came to the Department of Foreign Languages, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE) to deliver a speech entitled “the Development Direction of English Teaching in China”. Prof. Feng Jianwen, director of the Canadian Studies Center, NUFE hosted this speech.
                            In the first part of the speech, Prof. Lan emphasized the importance of Chinese learning in English teaching for English majoring students. Students should try their best to learn Chinese and improve their Chinese ability. That the English majoring students can master English and Chinese is the development direction of English teaching in    .. .. Prof. Feng Jianwen and Prof. Wang Keming with Students     China.  In the second part, Prof. Lan introduced the present situation of Canadian studies in China and looked forward to the future research in this field.  The gentle, elegant, courteous and scholaristic quality of Prof. Lan left a deep impression on faculty members and students. 1.   中国加拿大研究会第13届年会在南京财经大学召开（The 13th Biennial Conference of the Association for Canadian Studies in China Held at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics）   2008年 11月7日，南京财经大学仙林校区图书馆一楼报告厅内高朋满座、人声鼎沸，中国加拿大研究会第13届年会暨国际学术研讨会在此隆重举行。此次活动由南京财经大学加拿大研究中心和外语系承办，国际合作与交流处协办。副校长许承明教授、中国加拿大研究会会长郭继德教授、加拿大驻华大使馆文化参赞高柏林先生出席会议并致辞。江苏省人民政府外事办公室、省教育厅相关部门领导以及来自中国、加拿大、墨西哥等国相关研究机构和高校的专家学者共同参加了年会。开幕式由中国加拿大研究会副会长、南京财经大学加拿大研究中心主任冯建文教授主持。    
开幕式上，许承明副校长致欢迎词。他在介绍了学校教育发展的基本情况以及南京财经大学在加拿大研究方面取得的成果后，表示南京财经大学还将进一步加大对加拿大研究中心的投入，并对相关专业的学生进行专门培训，让他们更好地了解加拿大、走进加拿大，成为南财大与加拿大高校之间牵连友谊与学术交流的使者，共同促进加拿大研究与国际化办学事业的发展。    
  中国加拿大研究会会长郭继德教授致开幕词。他指出，近年来中国加拿大研究会取得了长足的发展，在增进中加学术交流和中加人民之间相互了解方面发挥了积极作用。谈及本年会“和谐与发展”的主题，郭会长说“和谐”是中加两国共同追求的目标，他希望双方专家学者借此机会，畅所欲言，共商大计。      
加拿大驻华大使馆文化参赞高柏林致贺词。他说，中加建交38年来，两国在政治、经济、社会、文化等各领域都得到全方位发展他希望通过此次年会，双方能够就建设和谐社会而交流经验，共同进步。作为文化参赞，高柏林先生表示十分乐意为两国高校的交流合作牵线搭桥。 他鼓励在场同学积极参与到对加拿大研究项目中来。    
随后，中国加拿大研究会首任会长蓝仁哲教授、中国加拿大研究会副会长王昺教授、中国加拿大研究会秘书长李巍教授分别主持大会主题发言。加中关   系首席专家、约克大学Frolic教授，我校金融学院王应贵博士，广东外语外贸大学王小海教授，蒙特利尔大学Foggin  教授、阿尔伯塔大学Evans教授、华东政法大学何萍教授、重庆大学吴言荪教授分别围绕加拿大语言、民族历史、文化教育、经济贸易、国际关系、环境保护等的研究展开讨论。南京大学贾培宏教授、辽宁师范大学古俊伟教授、兰州大学加拿大研究中心主任刘艺工教授、华东师范大学潘兴明教授等分别作了点评。
会议的第二天为分组讨论阶段，学者们分别加入经济、法律组；外交、历史、社会、管理组；文化组；教育组和文学组进行了分组讨论。    
会议期间，南京财经大学还组织了“加拿大活动周”，开展加拿大歌曲合唱、加拿大英语演讲比赛、学术讲座等系列文化活动，为广大师生充分展示加拿大丰富多彩的异国文化。    
会议期间还召开了第13届理事会全体会议，通过了新的会章，选出了新一届常务理事会和会长、副会长，南京财经大学加拿大研究中心主任冯建文教授当选为新一届中国加拿大研究会会长。闭幕式上还宣布了第二届加拿大研究优秀成果奖获得者，加研会顾问蓝仁哲教授、郭继德教授和徐炳勋教授分别为获奖者颁发一等、二等和三等奖。 （南京财经大学加拿大研究中心韩静报道）

On Nov. 7, 2008, the 13th Biennial Conference of the Association for Canadian Studies in China (ACSC) was held in Lecture Hall of the Library, Xianlin Campus, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE). This conference was hosted by the Canadian Studies Center and Department of Foreign Languages, assisted by Office of International Cooperation & Exchange of NUFE. Prof. Xu Chengmin, Vice President of NUFE; Prof. Guo Jide, President of ACSC; Mr. Patrice Cousineau,      
Mr. Patrice Cousineau, Cultural Counsellor of Canadian Cultural Counsellor of Canadian Embassy in Beijing  delivering congratulation speech        Embassy in Beijing were present at the conference and addressed speeches.
Leaders from Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education; experts and scholars from related research organizations and universities in China, Canada, Mexico and so on participated in this conference. The opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. Feng Jianwen, Vice President of ACSC, Director of Canadian Studies Center, NUFE.                          
On the opening ceremony, Prof. Xu Chengmin, Vice President of NUFE addressed welcoming speech. After introducing the basic situation of the education development in NUFE and the achievements NUFE got in Canadian studies,  he said NUFE would provide more financial and other support to the Canadian Studies Center, NUFE, which would upgrade education and research level. He hoped NUFE would continue offer special training for the related students, helping them to understand Canada and walk into Canada so that they become young friendly and. scholarly  NUFE’s emissaries to Canadian universities to promote the further development of Canadian studies and internationalization of NUFE.        
Prof. Guo Jide, President of ACSC addressed opening speech. He said, in resent years, ACSC has got great development and played an active role in promoting academic communication between China and Canada and understanding between Chinese and  Canadians. He also said “Harmony” is the purpose both China and Canada always pursue, and Chinese and Canadian experts could use this good chance to discuss and communicate.  
Later, Mr. Patrice Cousineau, Cultural Counsellor of Canadian Embassy in Beijing delivered a congratulation speech. He said since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Canada have developed greatly in politics, economics, society, culture and so on. Mr. Cousineau hoped that through this biennial conference, China and Canada could learn from each other and achieve common progress in construction of the harmonious society. He indicated that he, as a Counsellor, is willing to bridge the cooperation between universities in China and Canada. He encouraged attendant students to take part in Canadian studies.

Evans from University of Alberta, Prof. He Ping from East China University of Political Science and Law and Prof. Wu Yansun from Chongqing University delivered keynote speeches on Canadian language, national history, culture, education, economy, international relationship and environment protection. Dr. Jia Peihong from Nanjing Univeristy, Prof. Gu Junwei from Liaoning Norma; University, Prof. Liu Yigong from Lanzhou University and Prof. Pan Xingming from East China Normal University and so son made respective short comments on  keynote speeches. Panel ses-sion was carried out on the second day. Scholars discussed with each other in different groups like Economics and Law Group, International Affairs,History, Society & Government Group; Culture and Multicultu-ralismGroup; Educa-tion Groupand Litera-ture  Group.
During  the    Winners and consultants of ACSC awarding prizes              conference period, the Canadian Studies Center in NUFE also organized “Canadian Week”, in which Canadian Songs Concert, English Speaking on Canadian Studies, Academic Speeches and so on were carried out. Members of the 13th council of ACSC held a meeting to pass new constitution of ACSC, and elect its new standing council and president. Prof. Feng Jianwen, Director of the Canadian Studies Center, NUFE was elected to be the new President. Winners of the Second Award for Excellence in Canadian Studies in China were announced at the closing ceremony and three consultants of ACSC, Prof. Lanrenzhe, Prof. Guojide and Prof. Xu Bingxun awarded the first prize, second and third prize respectively..         (Reported by Han Jing, the Canadian Studies Center, NUFE)

3.  第二届加拿大研究奖获奖学者( Winners of the Second Award for Excellence for Canadian Stuidies in China）  
2008年2月，中国加研会秘书处在第45期通讯上发布信息，第二届加拿大研究优秀成果奖评奖活动即将展开。我们鼓励大家提交2004年1月1日至2007年12月31日之间出版的中英文著作、教材和译著。在以后的4个月中，一共收到了14本参加评奖的作品，包括3本历史和中加关系史的著作，1本政治家传记，2本文学著作，1本教育论著，1本关于社会与文化的教材和1本研究美加社会发展的著作。其余的5本译著涉及文学、历史和诺尔曼·白求恩作品。根据原来的通知，需要评出10个奖项。秘书处组织专家进行了评审。他们阅读了作者提供的作品和简介，发表了自己的观点；经过充分的讨论，从中挑选的10本著作和译著，将其分为三个等级，授予优秀成果奖。

In February, 2008 the Secretariat of ACSC announced in Newsletter No. 45 that ACSC would carry out the activity for the second award for excellence in Canadian studies in China. It was to encourage the Canadianists in China to submit for choosing their works, textbooks, translation on Canadian studies published either in Chinese or English between Jan.1st, 2004 and Dec. 31st, 2007. Within four months, the Secretariat received 14 books from Chinese scholars. Among them are 3 works dealing with Canadian history and history of Sino-Canadian relations, 1 biography of a statesman, 2 Canadian literature works, 1 work on Canadian education, 1 textbook dealing with Canadian society and culture and 1 work on American and Canadian social development. The 5 translations are about Canadian literature, history and Norman Bethune’s writing and art. Of these 9 books and 5 translations, 10 best ones needed to be chosen according to original announcement. The secretariat organized some experts to choose and appraise through comparison. They read the books and brief introduction by the authors, put forward their opinions about each book, and after complete discussion they chose 10 ones and divided them into three classes. One is for first class prize, 3 for second class prize, and 6 for third-class prize. It may be said the process of choosing is open and candid without manipulation behind-the-scenes. 第一章  会名与宗旨
第一条  本会的中文名称为“中国加拿大研究会”，英文名称为The Association for Canadian Studies in China (ACSC), 法文名称为 L'Assoication Chinoise d' Etudes Canadiennes.第二条  本会旨在团结国内从事加拿大研究的学者，开展人文与社会科学诸学科或跨学科的研究和教学活动，以实际的成果为我国的现代化建设服务，为增进中加两国间的深入了解、文化交流、友好往来和传统友谊做出应有的贡献。
第二章  性质与归属
第三条  本会是全国范围内从事加拿大研究的民间学术团体。
第四条  本会为“中国世界经济研究会”的下属团体，参加“国际加拿大研究理事会”(The International Council for Canadian Studies, ICCS)，为该会理事成员。
第三章  组织结构
第五条  本会的最高权力机构是会员代表大会。如无特殊情况，代表大会一般在年会期间举行。在代表大会上，会长应做工作报告，秘书长应作财务报告。大会期间由理事会行使职权；闭会期间，由常务理事会负责。
第六条  本会常设机构为秘书处，秘书处不一定与会长在同一个地区或地域，负责本会日常工作。并代表本会与国内外有关学术团体进行联系。
第七条  加入本会的各加拿大研究中心(所)，作为一个研究实体，同时是其所属院校或单位的独立机构。
第八条  现任秘书处有责任向下届秘书处移交全部档案材料和账目。
第四章  会员、理事和会长
第九条  热心从事加拿大研究，具有中级以上职称或相应学术水平、以及在加拿大研究方面有一定成果或贡献的同志，承认本会章程，经本人申请，理事会(大会期间)通过或秘书处(闭会期间)审查合格，均可成为本会会员。
第十条  本会会员分集体会员和个人会员。研究所、研究中心、研究小组以及一个单位有3至5名以上会员者，原则上以集体会员名义加入本会，但集体会员内的个人会员均享受会员的一切权利。
第十一条  会员享有选举权和被选举权，可以免费获得本会编印的会刊和类似的国内外有关交流资料，可以优先被邀请参加本会和各中心组织的学术活动。
第十二条  会员应认真遵守本会会章和规定，按期交纳会费，积极开展加拿大研究与教学工作，并有积极支持本会工作的义务。第十三条  加入本会的每个研究中心(所)可推荐1至2名理事候选人，由常务理事会审核后提出建议名单，提交会员代表大会表决通过。理事每届任期二年，可连选连任。理事人选应是从事加拿大研究并已获得一定成果，且热心于加拿大研究工作的会员。
第十四条 常务理事会由理事会选举产生，要适当照顾到全国各大区的代表性。常务理事人选应当是在加拿大研究领域做出较大贡献，并是主要研究中心的成员。第十五条  秘书长由会长提名，理事会同意产生，并根据情况设副秘书长若干人；任期两年，可以连任。秘书长不一定是常务理事。
第十六条  每届理事会选举会长一名，副会长若干名，任期两年。会长任期一届，不能连选连任；副会长任期届满后可以连选连任。若会长因故(如出国)不能履行会长职责半年以上，会长与几位副会长协商在副会长中确定—人代行会长职责。
第十七条  正、副会长候选人由现任常务理事会推荐，经新一届常务理事会协商提名后，由理事会选举产生。正、副会长人选应是在加拿大研究领域里的知名学者，为人正派，办事公道，德高望重，并具有一定的组织能力和经验。
第十八条  卸任会长由常务理事会聘为顾问，在加拿大研究方面做出突出贡献的知名学者，可由常务理事会聘为顾问。顾问可以参加常务理事会会议，对研究会的工作提出建议，但无表决权。 第五章  学术活动
第十九条  本会鼓励、支持和协调各地中心、所、组和会员，密切结合我国现代化建设的实际，开展加拿大研究诸学科的教学、研究、出版和学术交流活动，努力反映我国加拿大研究的特色。第二十条  翻译和介绍加拿大研究诸领域的代表著作，搜集和整理有关加拿大的图书资料，为增进国内对加拿大的了解和研究创造有利的条件。
第二十一条  结合国内各学科专业的建设，努力在更多大专院校的有关专业增加加拿大部分的教学内容或开设有关课程；在有条件的专业，增加加拿大研究的相关方向。
第二十二条  在研究的基础上撰写有关加拿大的各类著述和文章，并以不同渠道和形式发表。第二十三条  每两年召开一次全国性的学术年会，会议期间着重举行加拿大研究的专题或分专题或分学科的学术报告会，会议参加者应提交论文。
第二十四条  有计划地组织和开展国内各研究中心之间的学术和资料交流活动，不定期地举办专题研讨会或分学科的学术报告会，研讨会既可由各研究中心协同召开，也可单独举行。
第二十五条  积极参与国际加拿大研究理事会和各国加拿大研究会组织的学术活动。
第二十六条  秘收处定期通过研究会的网络渠道发布相关信息，通报本会工作和国内外加拿大研究的学术信息，与各地会员单位、会员保持经常性的联系。
第六章  会费缴纳与使用
第二十七条  本会会员（集体会员按其实际吸收会员数计），每年向秘书处缴纳会费拾元，经催促连续四年不缴纳会费者，作为自动退会对待。
第二十八条  会费由秘书处保管，用于支付研究会的相关活动经费，需定期向常务理事会作相关财务报告。
第七章  本章程的修订与解释
第二十九条  本会章程须经理事会审定、会员代表大会通过后方能生效。若作修改，须事先提交书面修订案并经同样程序审定通过。
第三十条  本章程由常务理事会负责解释。
