1. “中加能源与环境治理圆桌讨论会”在清华大学举行(“China-Canada Roundtable on Energy and Environmental Governance” Held in Tsinghua University, China)
2008年3月8日,清华大学环境资源能源法研究中心在加拿大外交和国际贸易部的资助下,成功举办了“中加能源与环境治理圆桌讨论会”。此次研讨会旨在加强中国和加拿大学者在能源和环境治理领域的交流与合作。来自中国环境保护部、联合国环境规划署、美国能源基金会、加拿大卡尔加里大学、加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚大学、清华大学、北京大学、中国人民大学、中国政法大学、中国社会科学院、山东大学的专家学者和这些院校的学生等40多人参加了本次圆桌会议。在为期一天的研讨中,参会人员就国际环境治理、经济全球化与环境安全、中国和加拿大环境治理、中国和加拿大能源治理、中国可再生能源立法、环境保护GO在能源治理中的作用、气候变化等问题进行了深入的交流并达成了广泛的共识。卡尔加里大学法学院院长、不列颠哥伦比亚大学法学院副院长和清清华大学环境资源能源法研究中心主任一致认为,今后应通过研讨会、研究生交流项目等形式,进一步加强合作。来自联合国环境规划署亚太地区办公室的代表也表示,今后将进一步推动该机构与清华大学和参加此次圆桌会议的加拿大法学院之间的交交流与作。 (清华大学王明远报导 ) On March 8, 2008, Center for Environmental, Natural Resources & Energy Law of Tsinghua University successfully held “China-Canada Roundtable on Energy and Environmental Governance” with the aim to strengthen the academic exchange and cooperation between China and Canada in energy and environmental governance. This event is sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canadian government.
More than 40 participants attended the roundtable, including the scholars and experts from Ministry of Environmental Protection of China, UNEP, Energy Foundation, University of British Columbia, University of Calgary, Tsinghua University, Peking University, China Renmin University, China University of Political Science and Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shandong University, and some students of these universities and institutes. During the one-day discussion, the participants reached some significant consensuses on the issues of international environmental governance, economic globalization and environmental security, environmental governance in China and Canada, energy governance in China and Canada, legislation on renewable energy in China, roles of environmental NGOs in energy governance and climate change. The dean of Faculty of Law, niversity of Calgary, the associate dean of Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia and the director of Center for Environmental, Resources & Energy Law of Tsinghua University expressed the expectation to promote further academic exchange through this kind of workshops or graduate programs. The representative from UNEP Asia-Pacific Office hoped to promote further cooperation with Tsinghua University and the Canadian law schools participating in the roundtable. 2008年3月10--11日,多伦多大学教授代表团一行4人——Janice Stein, Louis Pauly, Ronald Pruessen and Joseph Wong成功访问上海外国语大学和复旦大学。此次工作访是上海外国语大学"加拿大研究项目组”在“加拿大研究发展项目”(CSDP)资助前提下的学术拓展。 3月10日上午10点,“复旦-多大政治经济与国际关系研讨会”正式拉开帷幕,会议由复旦大学国际关系与公共事务学院副院长吴心伯、多伦多大学国际关系学院(Munk Center)院长 Janice Stein教授共同主持。在一个半小时的讨论中,双方就开展双边学术交流项目进行了论证并达成了基本共识。在下午的研讨会上,双方就“世界政治经济”、“国际关系”两大主题进行了学术讨论。多伦多大学国际问题研究中心副主任Louis Pauly 教授作了题为“迈向新全球金融稳定体系”的学术演讲;多伦多大学亚洲研究中心主任Joseph Wong针对“在理论与实践层面弱化发展国家”问题进行了学术演讲;多伦多大学国际关系学院院长Janice Stein教授作了题为“威慑与威慑无效:理论与实践”的学术报告;多伦多大学历史系原系主任Ronald Pruessen教授则作了题为“全球层面上的中美关系:从20世纪至21世纪”的学术演讲。复旦大学校长助理,国际关系与公共事务院副院长桑玉成教授、国际问题研究院副院长陈志敏教授、吴心伯教授、潘锐教授、潘忠岐教授、敬义嘉、吴澄秋博士分别主持并担当了各学术主题的评论人。复旦大学、上海外国语大学部分教师、博士、硕士研究生参加了下午的学术讨论会。 3月11日上午,多伦多大学教授代表团一行在位于虹口校区的上外国际关系与外交事务研究院进行了工作访问。双方就各自的学术领域和学术动态进行了友好、坦诚的会谈,并同意建立学术交流会谈机制。双方决定在2009-2010年间实现双边学术研究合作、国际会议合作等学术机制常规化。 (上海外国语大学“加拿大研究项目组”钱皓报道)
OVER March 10-11, 2008, invited by SHISU and SIRPA, Fudan University, UOT Professors Delegation held A Fudan—Toronto Workshop on Political Economy & International Relations and paid a working visit to SIDA. These academic visits are the echoes to “CSDP” provided by DFAIT.The workshop was co-operated by School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA), Fudan University and Munk Center, University of Toronto. The morning session was focusing on Discussions on Exchange Programs Between Munk and SIRPA, chaired by Prof.Wu Xinbo and Prof.Janice Stein. The two sides discussed the every detail of possible joint programs and arrived at some concrete plans. After Fudan Campus tour at noon, the afternoon session was resumed at 1:30. Assistant President of Fudan and Deputy Dean of SIRPA, Prof.SANG Yucheng delivered an opening remarks and Session 1 “Political Economy” chaired by Prof.Chen Zhimin, Deputy Director of Institute for International Studies, Head of Department of International Politics at SIRPA, started with the two presentations by Prof. Louis Pauly, Director of the Center for International Studies, as well as Prof. Joe Wong, Canada Research Chair, Director of Asian Institute, Munk Center, UOT. Louis talked about “Towards a New Global Architecture for Financial Stability” while Joe dealt with “Wither the Developmental State in Theory and Practice” followed by the discussants’ remarks by Prof. JING Yijia, Assistant Dean of SIRPA, and Prof. Wu Chengqiu. After Coffee Break, Session 2 “International Relations” came into view with the two presenters——Prof. Janice Stein, Belzberg Professor of Conflict management, Director of Munk Center and Prof. Ronald Pruessen, Former Chair of the History Department, UOT, whose topics are: “Deterrence and its discontents: Theory and Practice” and “China and the United States in the Global Arena: From the 20th Century to the 21st”.After the two presentations, discussants Prof.Pan Rui and Pan Zhongqi delivered some remarks. At the Wrap-Up Discussion, faculty members from SIRPA and Center for American Studies together with some guests from SHISU and other local universities were presented there. A full day at Fudan, involved in a mini-conference focused on various international relations issues.On March 11, the delegation spent half a day at SHISU, examining and exploring things like joint sponsorship of conferences and ways of developing some collaborative research partnerships with SIDA. The two sides agree to share the exchanging fuller information about the interests and projects of researchers to "match" people with similar interests. Both sides hope to see one or two collaborative projects emerging over the next six months or so, aiming toward something like joint presentations at important international conferences in 2009 or 2010. 2008年3月29日,由中国加拿大研究会主办,哈尔滨工业大学(威海)加拿大研究中心和山东大学威海分校加拿大研究中心联合承办的“2008加拿大文学国际研讨会”在哈工大(威海)二号会议室举行。来自加拿大及中国北京大学、北京外国语大学、首都师范大学、南京师范大学、南京财经大学、吉林大学、哈尔滨工业大学、山东大学、云南民族大学、西南大学等十几所高校的40余名专家、学者参加了研讨会。哈工大(威海)外国语学院院长张敏主持开幕式。哈工大(威海)副校长马家辰、山东大学威海分校副校长陈金钊分别致欢迎词,中国加拿大研究会会长郭继德教授致开幕词。大会共收到33篇高水平的论文,较为全面地展现了加拿大文学的研究范畴和方向,是一次高水平的国际学术研讨会。
加拿大著名剧作家、诗人、里贾纳大学英文系教授肯·米切尔、山东大学威海分校加拿大研究中心主任耿力平教授、哈尔滨工业大学加拿大研究中心主任傅利教授分别作了主题发言。下午,与会代表分成“小说批评”和“诗歌、戏剧、后殖民文学批评”两个小组宣读论文,并进行热烈的讨论和积极的交流。

This conference was organized by the School of Foreign Languages at Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) and the Centre for Canadian Studies at Shandong University (Weihai) under the auspices of the Association for Canadian Studies in China as well as the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT). Close to 40 scholars from various Chinese and Canadian universities attended the conference. In all 33 presentations on Canadian poetry, novel, or postcolonial President Ji-de Guo Opening the Conference writings were made. Professor Min ZHANG, dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai), chaired the opening ceremony. Vice-Presidents from both Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) and Shandong University at Weihai attended the opening ceremony and offered their respective welcome remarks. The President of ACSC, Professor Ji-de Guo gave the opening speech. In the morning three keynote speeches were each made by Professor Kenneth Mitchell of the University of Regina, Professor Li-Ping Geng, Director of the Centre for Canadian Studies at Shandong University (Weihai), and Professor Li FU, Director of the Centre for Canadian Studies at Harbin Prof. Kenneth Mitchell Making Presentation Institute of Technology. In the afternoon the attendees took part in the two breakout sessions. In the morning three keynote speeches were each made by Professor Kenneth Mitchell of the University of Regina, Professor Li-Ping Geng, Director of the Centre for Canadian Studies at Shandong University (Weihai), and Professor Li FU, Director of the Centre for Canadian Studies at Harbin Institute of Technology. In the afternoon the attendees took part in the two breakout sessions, making and listening to presentations and also holding discussions.
Professor Li-Ping Geng chaired the closing ceremony at which Professor Jun FU of the Nanjing Normal University and Professor Shou-wen Pan of Jilin University summarized the discussions of each group, and President Guo offered comments on the successful conference and gave a report on the work done so far in his tenure and the tasks ahead. Guo also read the congratulatory message sent by Officer Li Wang of the Canadian Embassy. President Guo urged the scholars to make greater efforts in promoting Canadian literature in general in their teaching and research.
