The Canada-Australasian-Pacific Studies network invites
graduate students with an interest in Canadian Studies to attend
the inaugural “Postgraduate Research on Canada in the Asia-
Pacific” seminar to be held in Hong Kong on April 3rd, 2007.

The postgraduate research seminar aims to:
 Highlight current postgraduate research on Canada in the
Asia-Pacific region
 Encourage collaboration amongst graduate students in the
Asia-Pacific region
 Facilitate publication of Canadian Studies research by
graduate students in the Asia-Pacific region

It is expected that the participants in this forum will include
graduate students from Australia, China, India, Israel, Japan,
Korea, New Zealand and Taiwan.

It is expected that the outcome of this forum will be an edited
volume of graduate research papers.

Participants in the postgraduate research seminar must:
 Prepare and deliver a short presentation on their research
as it relates to Canada and (if applicable) the Asia-Pacific
 Participate in discussions with other graduate students at
the seminar and explore options for collaboration,
exchange of ideas, etc.
 Be prepared to submit a paper for an edited volume of
graduate research papers and commit time to re-edit the
paper as needed over the next six months
