News from Shandong University: The preparation for the biennial conference is well under way in Shandong University. Formal invitation letters are being sent out and all centers will receive them soon after the National Day Golden Week.
=>2. LNU Center semiar (辽宁师大中心主办研讨会)
Canadian Studies Center of Liaoning Normal University held the semiar on the theme of "Multiculturalism in Canada and China," from Sept. 15-18th, 2006. About 30 scholars from Canada and China attended it. Please see the summary report attached for details (Attachment 1).
=>3. Prof. Li's translation （李鹏飞译著）
Beijing University of Technology Center translated the book "Canada-the Pathways to the Present," The author of the book J. T. Saywell sent the news to Prof. Li Peng Fei about the translation carried on Singtao News, the largest Chinese newspaper in North America.
北京理工大学加研中心翻译出版的《加拿大－－走向今日之路》（Canada-the Pathways to the Present）的原书作者John.T. Saywell先生寄来的世界有名的海外华文报纸《星岛日报》记者脱立新的报道和原书基本消息的介绍。详情请看附件的书的封面和星岛日报的消息,（Attachments 2 和3 ）。
=>4. Final Call for Submission of Relevant Information of All Centers（催办各中心收藏书目等信息）
关于催办各中心所藏资料、研究生培养和开设课程的通知
自秘书处根据使馆的要求收集各中心没有编目的加拿大资料、培养的研究生和开设的有关 加拿大的课程的行动以来，我们已经得到了许多中心的积极响应，但仍有不少执委单位及所负 责的周围中心没有回应.望还没有完成此项工作的研究会常委、以及所负责的周围中心尽快行 动起来，做好这项工作，我们力争在年会前我所有材料收集齐全，发送到研究会网站上，过期 后果自负.具体事宜，请参阅研究会网站www.canadastudies.com.cn 谢谢!
