Dear members and directors of centers:
Recently the Cultural Councellor, Mr. Buchett, wrote a letter to President Han Jing Lun, in which he reiterated his opinion expressed at the last conference, to the effect that in addition to support to publications, the embassy would like to lend strong support to organizing seminars, academic conferences, and activities of Canadian Studies. However, the bulk of this year's applications submitted are publication grant applications, while there are relatively fewer applications for seminars and activities. This result is not satisfactory. Miss Wang Li recently contacted our secteriat on this matter and expressed the concern that, if the total amount we apply for does not live up to the expectations, the next year's programs, as well as the evaluation and authorization will be affected. As a matter of fact, in late March our association executive committee called for greater efforts by all centers to organize various seminars and activities related to Canadian studies. Now we would like to reiterate the same hope: all centers will take an active part in Canadian studies activites and applications, esp. on this occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatice relations between Canada and China. We hope all centers will respond to our call with actions!(Translation: Wang Bing) (See attached is the Councellor's letter)

加拿大驻华大使馆日前公布了2005年度中加学者交流项目（CCSEP）的11名获奖学者名单。这些获奖人将作为中国访问学者于2005年9月开始在加拿大各大学进行研究工作。
在今年，加拿大驻华大使馆、加拿大驻上海总领事馆、加拿大驻广州总领事馆以及加拿大驻重庆领事馆就这一著名的年度奖项共收到43份申请。由一个来自外部的评选委员会在北京对每一份申请进行了评审，最终选定这11位杰出中国学者为这一重要奖项的获得者。
本年度CCSEP的获奖学者为：
1. 徐丹女士
所在院校机构: 辽宁师范大学外国语学院
2. 肖巍博士
所在院校机构: 清华大学人文社会科学学院
3. 李哲博士
所在院校机构: 中国刑法大学刑事司法学院
4. 王松良博士
所在院校机构: 福建农林大学
5. 姚媛教授
所在院校机构: 南京大学
6. 高艳云博士
所在院校机构: 山西财经大学统计学院
7. 寥志刚教授
所在院校机构: 西南政法大学民商法学院
8. 宾慧中女士
所在院校机构: 同济大学建筑与城市规划学院
9. 黄黎明博士
所在院校机构: 暨南大学
10. 黄芳女士
