=>1. The Center for Canadian Studies at SISU will hold the Symposium at Shanghai in November, 2010

 

The symposium “After the G20 Toronto Summit: Canada, China and the Global Governance” will be hold at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), on November 14th, 2010.

         Given the fact that the 4th G20 summit held in Toronto has turned out to be a corner stone for Canada and G20 to be fully involved in the global governance, the up-coming symposium will locate its topics on the most potentials as to the co-operation between Canada and China on the global scales.

The symposium is to be hosted jointly by the Center for Canadian Studies, SISU and G8 and G20 Research Group at Munk Center, the University of Toronto, Canada with the assistance of the Government of Canada, and SISU partly.

    The symposium is composed of five sessions with the following topics:

1.      Canada and G20 Toronto Summit (2010)

2.      Canada's Mediating Role in the Global Governance

3.      Canada’s International Responsibilities and Its African Policy

4.      The prospect of Canada-China Cooperation in the Climate Change

5.      The Economic Relationship of Canada-China in Investment and Trade

   Those who are interested please email the abstracts of their papers and personal information to the Centre for Canadian Studies at SISU (canada_sisu@yahoo.cn) by September 20th, 2010. They will be given a prior consideration for those Scholars, social activists, journalists as well as government officials at Universities, NGOs, Think Tanks, Government and Research Institutes from both Canada and China. If the paper is accepted by the organizer of the Symposium, the organizer will send a letter to confirm the invitation by September 30th, 2010. The scholars invited should send their paper via email by November 1st, 2010. For details please see the attached invitation letter.
