中国加拿大研究会第14届年会暨国际学术研讨会将于2010102830日在北京外国语大学召开,由北京外国语大学加拿大研究中心承办。2号通知在2009年底发出以后,学界同仁反应积极。本次通知再次邀请加研各领域专家学者参会,尤其欢迎加拿大外交政策和中加关系,以及经贸政策和中加贸易关系方面的论文。

  Call for Papers: the ACSC 14th Biennial Conference in Beijing in 2010

 

Organization Committee of the 14th Biennial Conference

April 28, 2010

 

The Association for Canadian Studies in China will hold the 14th Biennial Conference at Beijing Foreign Studies University from October 28 to 30, 2010. The conference will be organized by the Canadian Studies Centre at BFSU with the theme of “Inheritance and Development: Canada and China in the Context of Globalization in the 21st Century”. Canadianists at home and abroad are welcome to participate.

 

The conference is composed of eight sessions with the following topics:

1. Canadian foreign policy and Sino-Canada relationship

2. Canadian economic policy and Sino-Canada trade relationship

3. Canadian environmental policy and Sino-Canada co-operation in environmental protection

4. Canadian ethnic issue and multiculturalism

5. Canadian public policy and social policy

6. Education, art, journalism

7. Canadian history

8. Canadian literature and language

 

Interested scholars should email the abstracts of their papers and personal information to the Canadian Studies Centre at BFSU (canadabfsu@yahoo.com.cn) and copy them to the Secretariat of ASCS at shosho424@163.com by June 15, 2010.

  =>2. 南京财经大学加拿大研究中心举办加拿大研究学术讲座和研讨会(Canadian Studies Centre Nanjing University of Finance and Economics Held Lectures and a Seminar on Canadian Studie

   

南京财经大学加拿大研究中心于201048在外国语学院会议室召开了加拿大研究学术研讨会,外国语学院领导、学校国际合作与交流处领导、中心加拿大研究学者、教师代表和研究生代表等 40余人参加了研讨会。会议由中心主任冯建文教授主持,2009年中加交换访问学者、2010年加拿大研究专项奖学者、2009年主持PDG项目学者和2010年申报PDG项目学者的代表做了主题发言。

 四位学者报告了他们的研究成果或研究思路。金融学院的王应贵博士主讲加拿大金融特色与加元汇率问题,外国语学

               The seminar on Canadian studes at NUFE                        院的陶娟讲师主讲加拿大警力系统与政策,国际贸易学院的李杏博士主讲加拿大国际投资与在华投资,国际贸易学院的杨智华讲师主讲加拿大农业品牌战略。2009年中加交换访问学者、外国语学院的韩静讲师报告了她对加拿大人文教育体系的研究,2010年加拿大研究专项奖学者、食品工程学院的汪峰博士报告了加拿大生态储粮的先进成果和中加在此领域的合作。他们的发言主题新颖,思路广阔而又别致,具有很强的实用性和高度的前瞻性,极大地开阔了学术视野,令人有耳目一新之感。王应贵博士分析了加元在国际金融方面的态势和优势,指出加元应对金融风险的能力与加拿大的金融战略和政策很有关系。李杏博士正在调研加拿大在华投资战略,尤其以长三角地区为重点,认为中加双方的相互投资具有很大的潜力和良好前景。汪峰博士曾在加拿大曼尼托巴大学研究加拿大生态储粮达两年之久,如今中国和加拿大在生态储粮方面的合作也进入了建设研究基地和储粮基地的实质性阶段,近年内将在中国包括南京在内的5个大城市建立生态储粮基地,而南京财经大学是中加生态储粮的合作与研究的发起单位。汪峰博士的研究不仅涉及中加生态储粮技术层面的交流与合作,更要探讨加拿大生态储粮甚至生态农业方面的战略与政策,以供我国借鉴。

外国语学院院长王克明教授对主题发言进行了点评,号召加拿大研究学者进一步开阔学术视野,加强跨学科和交叉学科的加拿大研究,在未来的研究中有所突破,有所创新。

冯丽娜、文晶、金立林分别就加拿大图书资料建设、校园学生加拿大研究活动等事宜做了发言。学校图书馆的加拿大研究阅览专区建设进展顺利,每年都从国内外购进新的加拿大研究图书资料。学生中的加拿大研究开展很有成绩和特色,除了每年传统性的活动,如加拿大英语讲演赛、加拿大研究校园图文展等外,我校每年都有比较重大的校园加拿大研究活动开展,产生了较大的影响,尽可能多地吸引了在校学生参与校园加拿大研究活动。

2008年配合在我校召开的中国加拿大研究会第13届年会举办了加拿大文化周,以外国语学院师生为主的校园合唱团演唱了加拿大代表性歌曲10余首,属于国内首创,受到中加学界的高度赞扬。2009年为纪念伟大的国际主义战士、中加友谊的桥梁白求恩医生在华殉职70周年,我校加拿大研究中心和外国语学院举办了纪念白求恩的加拿大文化周,外国语学院的学生上演了反映白求恩工作和生活的英文话剧,又一次感动了校园师生和国内外的学者。2010年还将在我校举办纪念中加建交40周年的加拿大文化周,届时将邀请加拿大驻华大使馆文化参赞、加拿大驻沪总领事馆文化领事、加拿大驻南京商务代办处官员、中加友谊文化大使大山、麦克马斯特大学副校长陈万华教授及众多加拿大学者前来参加。我校校园学生的加拿大研究活动日益丰富,产生了很好的影响,广受关注和好评。

中心主任冯建文教授做了总结发言,并对国内外加拿大研究的情况和相关事宜做了通报。教授强调我校加拿大研究中心是近年来全国最活跃、最有成就的中心之一,受到中加学界和中加有关机构的关注和重视,已成为我校一个多学科参与的高水平学术研究与交流的平台,也成为我校通向加拿大和国际学术界的一扇富有成效的窗口。2009年我们有5个研究项目受到加拿大国际事务部的立项资助,是国内之冠。2010年除了在研究项目立项资助方面再创佳绩外,还要办好庆祝中加建交40周年的加拿大文化周,做好参加在北京外国语大学召开的中国加拿大研究会第14届年会的准备工作,争取又一次成为参加全国性加拿大研究学术会议

  静: 加拿大人文教育体系研究

On April 8, 2010, The Canadian Studies Center at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE) held a seminar on Canadian Studies at the conference room at School of Foreign Languages, NUFE. Over 40 scholars, including leaders of School of Foreign Languages and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, members of the Canadian Studies Center, some faculties and graduates, participated in this seminar. The seminar was held by Prof. Feng Jianwen, Director of Canadian Studies Center; the 2009 CCSEP winner, the 2010 SACS winner, 2009 PDG winners and 2010 PDG applicants delivered keynote speeches.

Four scholars reported their findings or researching ways. Dr. Wang Yinggui from School of Finance talked about finance characteristics in Canada and Canadian dollar exchange problems; Lecturer Tao Juan from School of Foreign Languages talked about the police system and police policies in Canada; Dr. Li Xin from School of International Business talked about Canadian investment in China; Lecturer Yang Zhihua talked about agriculture brand strategy of Canada; Lecturer Han Jing, 2009 CCSEP winner, from School of Foreign Languages, reported her research in humanities education in Canada; Dr. Wang Feng, 2010 SACS winner, from School of Food Science and Engineering, talked about the advanced achievements of ecological grain storage and the cooperation between China and Canada. Wiith innovative topics and broad and distinctive thoughts their lectures are practical and broaden scholars’ academic horizons. Dr. Wang Yinggui analyzed the positions and advantages the Canadian dollar has in international financial markets and pointed that the capacity of the Canadian dollar’s response to financial crisis is closely connected with Canadian finance strategy and policies. Dr. Li Xin has been recently doing researches in strategies of Canadian investment in China, focusing on the Yangzi River Delta area. She thought there are many potentials and a bright future in the mutual investment between China and Canada in this area. Dr. Wang Feng had done researches on ecological grain storage in Manitoba University for two years. Nowadays the cooperation in ecological grain storage between China and Canada has come to setting up researching bases and storage bases. Dr. Wang Feng’s research not only covers cooperation between China and Canada in technical aspects of ecological grain storage, but also studies strategies and policies in Canadian ecological grain storage and its references to China.  

Prof. Wang Keming, Dean of School of Foreign Languages made comments on these keynote speeches, and then called on all scholars to broaden academic horizons, enhance interdisciplinary studies in Canadian studies, and make breakthrough in future researches.

Feng Lina, Wen Jin, and Jing Lilin respectively talked about the construction of Canadian library facilities and Canadian research activities held for students. The Canadian reading area in the university library develops smoothly and purchases latest materials on Canadian

               Some participants of the seminar               studies both from home and abroad every year. Canadian studies carried out among students’ activities are fruitful and distinctive. Apart from yearly traditional activities, such as English Speaking Contests on Canadian Studies, picture and text exhibitions on Canadian studies, other important Canadian studies activities are carried out in our university, which have brought great impact and absorbed students to take part in Canadian studies activities on campus.   

In 2008, as part of the 13th ACSC Biennial Conference held in NUFE, we held a Canada Week. Faculty members and students mainly from School of Foreign Languages sang over ten representative Canadian songs, which was the first time in China and was warmly praised by scholars from China and Canada. In 2009, in order to memorize Doctor Bethune, great internationalist and Friendship Bridge between China and Canada, and to commemorate the 70th anniversary of his sacrifice  in China, the Canadian Studies Center and School of Foreign Languages held another Canada Week in memory of Doctor Bethune. Students from School of Foreign Languages performed an English drama about Bethune’s work and life, which moved faculties, students and scholars from home and abroad. In 2010, we will hold yet another Canada Week to celebrate the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Canada for 40 years. At that time, we will invite the Cultural Counselor from the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, the Cultural Consul from the Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai, officers from Canada CNNA’s Agency in Nanjing, Mr. Mark Rowswell(Da Shan), Professor Luke Chen, Vice-President of McMaster University, and many Canadian scholars, to participate in this activity. All campus activities about Canadian studies are variable and have got good effects, attention and comments.

Prof. Feng Jianwen, Director of the Canadian Studies Center, made a concluding speech and shared recent Canadian studies information. Prof. Feng emphasized that our center is one of the most active and fruitful centers in China and got attention from Chinese and Canadian research fields and related organizations. Furthermore, it has become a research and communication platform involving multidiscipline and opened a productive window for our university to Canada and international academics. In 2009, the Center had five PDG programs approved and funded by DFAIT, ranking at the top of all the centers in China. In 2010, apart from getting more projects approved and funded, we plan to successfully carry out the Canada Week to celebrate the 40th aniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Canadad; and at the same time, make good preparations for participating in the 14th ACSC Biennial Conference held in Beijing Foreign Studies University, hoping to become the center with the most participants again. At last Prof. Feng arranged academic lectures on Canadian studies and other matters.
