1月9日上午,“加拿大-中国:危机与挑战”国际学术研讨会在津开幕。会议由南开大学世界近现代史研究中心、南开大学加拿大研究中心主办、加拿大政府赞助、加拿大驻华大使馆协办。来自中国社会科学院、北京大学16所院校、科研机构的专家学者及南开在校硕士博士生近80位代表与会,提交会议论文28篇。 开幕式由南开大学加拿大研究中心副主任杨令侠教授主持。加拿大驻华大使馆公使衔参赞、加拿大财政部驻华代表柯马克先生(Mark Kruger)、加拿大驻华大使馆公 共事务处参赞高柏灵先生(Patrice Cousineau)、加拿大驻华大使馆公共事务处学关系官员王荔女士、全国人大外事委员会原副主任、南开大学兼职教授吕聪敏、南开大学副校长张静、外事处副处长林润辉、南开大学历史学院院长陈志强教授、南开大学世界近代史研究中心杨栋梁、韩琦教授出席开幕式并致辞。

Opening Ceremony of The Symposium on “Canada-China: Crisis and Challenge” 体系成功的原因”、“中加建交四十年的启示”的主题报告。加拿大驻华大使馆公使衔参赞、加拿大财政部驻华代表Mark Kruger介绍了加拿大成功应付金融危机的一些经验。许晖、李诺、王晓德、杨令侠四位专家学者围绕金融危机的影响、对加拿大的认识、中加两国 的交流分别作了主题报告。
此次研讨会持续两天,分为三场大会发言,与会专家学者从政治、经济、文化等学科探讨加拿大防范危机的意识和面对危机的应变能力,进而增进中加双边合作与理解,推动我国现代化进程的健康发展,并促进我国加拿大研究的进一步发展。

The Symposium on “Canada-China: Crisis and Challenge” was held on January 9, 2010 in the city of Tianjin. It was co-hosted by the Research Centre for the History of Modern World a nd Canadian Studies Centre in Nankai University Sponsored by Canadian government and supported by Canadian Embassy in Beijing, nearly 80 scholars, experts and students from 16 universities, colleges and academic institutions, including Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Beijing University participated in the symposium. In addition, it brought together Ph. D students and graduate students from Nankai University. The number of papers presented reached twenty eight. Mr. Mark Kruger and Mr. Lv Congmin made keynote speeches entitled “How the Canadian Financial System Helped the Economy Weather the Crisis” and “Chin a-Canada Relations in Forty Years and Its Implications” respectively. Minister-Counsellor Mark Kruger gave an introduction about the sucessful experience of Canada’s response to the financial system. Scholars including Hui Xu, Nuo Li, Xiaode Wang and Lingxia Yang, contributed their ideas and suggestions on the impacts of financial crisis, Chinese perception about Canada and communication between China and Canada.
Scholars and experts discussed Canada’s consciousness and ability in preventing and dealing with economic crisis from the perspectives of politics, economy and culture at the two-day symposium, with the hope of enhancing cooperation and understanding between the two nations, increasing the development of Chinese modernization in a healthy way and promoting Canadian studies in China. Much work was done in preperation and completion of the symposium.
