福建师大加拿大研究中心自成立以来,一直得到加拿大驻华使领馆的大力支持和关心。近半年来,加拿大驻京使馆及驻穗领馆多位官员相继访问本中心。 非常感谢加拿大使领馆对福建师大加拿大研究中心的关心和支持,本中心将和各兄弟中心一起,继续努力奋斗,争取为我国的加拿大研究事业做出更大贡献。 (福建师范大学加拿大研究中心 贺建涛、柯静雅供稿) Since the foundation of the Centre for Canaidan Studies of Fujian Normal University(CCSFNU), it has been being given a great support and concern by the Embassy and Consulates. In the recent half year, several officials of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing and consulate in Guanzhou came to visit the CCSFJNU. On the Oct. 23,2008, Mr. Francois Rivest, who is the consul general of Guanzhou consulate of Canada, paid a visit to the CCSFNU. Prof. Limin, Vice-President of Fujian Normal University met with Mr. Francois Rivest in the meeting room of the CCSFNU. First, Prof. Li welcomed Mr. Francois Rivest on behalf of Prof. Huang Hansheng who is President of Fujian Normal University, and made a brief introduction to the FJNU including the CCSFNU to the guest. Prof. Wang Xiaode, Director of the CCSFJNU introduced the work circumstances of centre to Mr. Francois Rivest such as its history, office condition, research fields, main courses, achievements, foreign academic exchanges and development prospects. Mr. Francois Rivest thanked FJNU for warm reception he received, appreciated the centre’s steady development, and encouraged teachers and students of the centre to make more contribution to the Canadian Studies. Finally, he answered the questions about the present economy crisis, the Canadian economy, the Canadian Official Development Assistance, US-Canada relations. Prof. Limin thanked Mr. Francois Rivest for his advices and encouragements, and hoped the centre to keep closer contact with the Guanzhou consulate, so that the centre’s work become more and more flourishing with the help from Canada. The guest and host exchanged perents and hada group photo taken to mark the occasion. On the Feb.17 of 2007, Mr. Patrice Cousineau, counselor of public affairs together with Ms. Wang Li, Academic Relations Officer visited the centre. Prof. Xuming, Vice-President of Fujian Normal University welcomed the guests, introduced FNU History and its academic exchanges with the Canadian Universities. Prof. Wang Xiaode, who is the Director of the centre and president of Sociology and History College of FNU, made a brief report about the centre. After that, at the invitation of the centre, Mr. Patrice Cousineau made a speech of general view of Canada, in which he first played a short video about Vancouver winter Olympics displaying its charm. Subsequently, he showed Canada’s country's basic conditions such as geography, society system, economy, technology, diplomacy and culture. Mr. Patrice Cousineau’s speech was so rich in information, and so humorous that it left a deep impression on the audience. When his speech was over, the students discussed the early US-Canada relations, the Canadian Senate reform, the winter Olympics, the repatriation of China’s suspects in Canada, the Canadian higher education and international student policy with Mr. Patrice Cousineau. Prof. Wang Xiaode chaired the speech, and gave a passionate welcome speech and a wonderful comment. Mr .Mark Kruger, the Minister-Counselor in China, visited the Centre for Canadian Studies of Fujian Normal University and had a wonderful informal discussion with the delegates on March 4,2009. At first, he introduced canadian basic condition and the duties of canadian embassadors in China in brief, then had a hot discussion with the students delegates on epidemic situation of swine flu, how to think about the influence of canadian multiculturalism on attracting immigrants, the canadian attitudes toward the students from Fujian Province, the professional structures of Chinese in canada, the Sino-Canadian political relations and so on. Mr Mark listened seriously and answered the questions carefully. When talking of Sino-canadian relations, he said that there is a great friendship and close cooperation between China and Canada, and Canadian Embasy would like to work with Canadian government and people to promote the continuous development of Sino-Canadian relations. At last, Mr. Mark took his experience for example to give some good advice on getting a job to students and encouraged young students to step forward bravely. The conversazione , presided over by Pro. Wang Xiao-de, was held successfully, and Mr. Mark’s speech was loudly applauded. It is appreciated sincerely that the Canadian Embassy and Consulates has been giving the CCSFJNU so much support and concern . the Centre will go on making arduous efforts so as to make more contribution to the Canadian Studies in China together with brother centres.
