2008年12月10日,加拿大驻华大使馆参赞高柏灵(Patrice Cousineau)先生应邀到北京外国语大学做了题为“加拿大面面观”的讲座。
此次讲座由北外加拿大研究中心和北外学生加拿大研究俱乐部共同主办。当天下午16:10,讲座在北外逸夫楼第二阶梯教室进行,能容纳300多人的大教室座无虚席,同学们带着极大的兴趣聆听了参赞先生介绍加拿大概况和2010年温哥华冬奥会的准备情况。
讲座在高柏灵参赞幽默的话语中开始。2010年温哥华冬奥会的宣传短片从一开始就吸引了同学们的目光。接下来的时间中,
Mr. Patrice Cousineau was giving the lecture 高柏灵参赞分别从加拿大地理情况、政治、经济、科技、民俗等方面向到场的同学们呈现了一个多彩的加拿大。讲座结束后,同学们抓住这次和参赞近距离交流的机会,提出了有关加拿大的各方面问题,现场提问非常踊跃。参赞还和同学们交流了自己在语言学习方面的经验和心得。讲座在同学们热烈的掌声中结束。
本次讲座为那些对加拿大研究有兴趣的同学提供了一次深入了解的机会,受到学生们的普遍欢迎。
讲座后,北外英语学院院长孙有中、副院长张剑、加拿大研究中心主任龚雁等宴请了参赞先生,席间进一步探讨了北外加拿大研究中心的发展和与加拿大相关大学的合作事宜。

Mr. Patrice Cousineau, Counsellor of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, was invited to give a lecture titled “Canada: An Overview” in Beijing Foreign Studies University on December 10, 2009.
This lecture was sponsored by the Canadian Studies Centre and the Canadian Studies Club in BFSU. It started at 4:10 pm on December 10 at the Second Lecture Room of Sir Shaw Run Run Building in BFSU. The 300-seat lecture room was packed. Mr. Cousineau’s lecture on Canada and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Oly-mpics aroused great interest in audience.
The lecture started with Mr. Cousineau’s humorous remarks and a video clipping of the preparation work done for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
And it gave the Group photo of Mr. Cousineau and the host at the dinner students an overall picture of Canada from the perspe ctives of geography, politics, economy, science and technology and traditions and customs. During the Q&A session after the lecture, students asked many questions about Canada and Mr. Cousineau also shared with the audience his experience in learning foreign languages.
This lecture was very well received by the students in BFSU and it provided an opportunity for interested students to know more about Canada and Canadian Studies.
After the lecture, Mr. Cousineau was invited to a dinner by the host. Together with Professor Sun Youzhong, Dean of the School of English and International Studies, Professor Zhang Jian, Vice Dean and Professor Gong Yan, Director of Canadian Studies Centre, they discussed matters concerning the development of the Canadian Studies Centre in BFSU and cooperation with Canadian universities.
