11月17日,约克大学教授Bernie Michael Frolic被北京外国语大学聘为客座教授。英语学院院长孙有中和加拿大研究中心主任龚雁共同为Frolic教授授予北京外国语大学客座教授聘书。
Frolic教授是加拿大约克大学名誉教授,多伦多大学高级研究员,哈佛大学客座教授,其主要研究领域为中加关系。
在此次北外之行中,Frolic教授为加拿大研究中心的研究生举行了一系列有关中加关系的讲座。讲座的第一部分简单介绍了加拿?蟮木谩⑸缁岷驼沃贫取5诙糠植隽思幽么笸饨徽叩幕驹颉5谌糠忠灾屑庸叵滴晗附彩隽硕兰土焦吖叵档姆⒄埂5谒牟糠滞怀隽酥屑咏ń灰岳慈〉玫某删停赋隽四壳爸屑庸叵抵写嬖诘奈侍狻?Frolic教授渊博的学识和儒雅的气质给参加讲座的师生留下了深刻的印象。

On November 17th, Prof. Bernie Frolic from York University was engaged as BFSU visiting professor. Dean of School of English and International Studies, Prof. Sun Youzhong, and Director of Canadian Studies Center, Prof. Gong Yan, together conferred BFSU Visiting Professorship on Prof. Bernie Michael Frolic.
Prof. Frolic is Professor Emeritus, York University, Prof Senior Researcher, University of Toronto, and a visiting professor at Harvard. His major field of studies is Canada-China relations.
From left to right:Prof Gong, Prof. Frolic and Prof. Sun During his visit to BFSU, Prof. Frolic gave a series of lectures on Canadian foreign policy and Canada-China relations to the students at Canadian Studies Center. In the first lecture he introduced key issues and events in the Canadian economy, society and political system. The second lecture examined basic principles of Canadian foreign policies. The third lecture took Canada-PRC relations as a case study, showing how the two countries developed their bilateral relationship in the 20th century. The final lecture looked at the present relations, highlighting achievements and problems. Prof. Frolic’s profound knowledge and nice personality left a deep impression on professors and students present.
